Founded in Boston

We started JBS Partners in 2002, a year before WordPress was founded and two years before Facebook, while the bursting of the dot com bubble provided stark contrast to the years ahead. Our first clients were attained by cold calling, the hard way.  The name JBS Partners sounded official apparently because we got some traction.

Over the following years WordPress grew from a blogging platform to a full featured website platform that now powers more than 22% of all websites on the Internet. And is used by such big names as Sony, The New York Times, BBC America, The Rolling Stones,  CNN and NBCSports. It has been amazing decade for WordPress!

About Jim Spencer

Previous to founding JBS Partners Jim  led technology initiatives as a consultant and an executive with a financial services firm in Boston. Jim started his career as part of the management team that developed an award-winning luxury resort in the Caribbean. The success of JBS Partners can be traced back to Jim’s overriding focus on exceeding client expectations and the ability to translate client needs into technology requirements.

Jim lives outside of Boston with his wife Barbara and two high school aged children, Michael and Emily.

About our Clients

Our client list runs the gamut from solo entrepreneurs to corporations with multiple locations and thousands of employees. In keeping with the diversity of the World Wide Web, our clients hail from all points on the compass – east to Dubai, west to San Francisco, south to Santiago and north to Ottawa.

In addition to our clients we partner with design, marketing, SEO and other agencies to provide project and on-going support for their clients’ sites as well.

What’s in a Name?

The name sounded official. The B included my wife, Barbara, at least in name, and the word Partners felt distinguished. Partners, that’s how we view the people we are fortunate to call our colleagues.  And our clients are Partners as we work in a trusted advisor role.
